About — Will DePue

I’m Will DePue, an AI researcher and builder. I’m best known for my work at OpenAI, where I was a core contributor to Sora and Sora 2 and helped post-train o3, o4-mini, 4o, and GPT-5. I also started a moonshot team there with Eric Luhman and Troy Luhman to work on human-level sample efficiency.

I tweet a lot—much more than I should.

I started a community-analytics company in high school, built it into a four-person team, and sold it to Commsor from my college dorm.

I was born in 2003, grew up in Buenos Aires, graduated as salutatorian of Geffen Academy’s first class, studied computer science at the University of Michigan before dropping out, and am an Eagle Scout. I spent the first decade of my life in a radical Christian intentional community. That community led my family to move to Argentina; I’m no longer religious.
